Obituary
Ronald H. Taub Our kind, generous, funny, imaginative, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cherished friend and mentor Ron Taub joined his beloved wife Ethel on 26 June 2015. He passed away, at his home on Longboat Key, with his daughter Marcia Jean at his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY on 16 July 1929, Ron was a son of Edward and Rose Taub. He spent his early years in Fort Lee, New Jersey. He served in the Army National Guard as a medic. His university studies acquired not only a Bachelor and Masters degree; he also received an Honorary Doctorate from Spertus College of Judaica. Ron had a lifelong passion for knowledge and for improving things. He was a visionary and a gentleman of great humility. In Seagate, NY, Ron met Mrs Minnie Flecker who introduced him to her son Harold. When he passed that test, it was then ok to meet her beautiful daughter Ethel Betty, who became his wife in 1952. Together, they founded Creative Displays a point-of-sale advertising company in Chicago and made their home in Highland Park, IL. Their innate talents and hard work made it successful and Ron’s knowledge of corrugated cardboard and printing techniques was legendary. His many clients in the point-of- purchase industry valued his advice and expertise. They traveled the world always returning with gifts and stories. Throughout their lives, they supported various nonprofits in many communities around the country and beyond. Theirs was a great romantic and business partnership until Ethel died five years ago. Ron continued to support many Sarasota organizations including The Asolo, Sarasota Opera, Selby Gardens and shared his ideas and wisdom, as well as his resources, with the Circus Arts Conservatory, Designing Women
